Our Story

About Redstones Timber Homes & Manufacturing

Located in Pagosa Springs, owners Andre and Deborah Redstone with their experienced team, provide comprehensive custom hand cut timber frame design and making, mill work general construction, and land management services.  For over 10 years, Redstones Timber Frames has been successfully building custom traditional timber frame homes and structures in SW Colorado. Regionally sourced standing dead Engelmann Spruce and beetle-kill lumber once custom milled serve as the primary construction material.

Mr. Redstone is a traditional master craftsman with an extensive career on an international basis. He served a formal traditional apprenticeship in the UK, first as a furniture maker and restorer, and then expanded his focus to traditional building construction and restoration. Andre has been an active community volunteer, serving for almost 9 years as both member and Chairman of the Historic Preservation Board of the Town of Pagosa Springs, and was a member of the Town’s 2016 Comprehensive Master Plan review board.

Redstones Timber Frames is a Native American, minority, women-owned S-Corp. Andre is of mixed English heritage American Indian ancestry, and his wife Deborah is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation.

Delivering Advanced Level Innovation.

Redstones Timber Frames Inc. is now scaling up to include Redstones Timber Homes & Manufacturing (RTHM). We are planning to introduce the manufacturing of highly engineered, timber intensive (mass timber) stackable building packages. The use of state-of-the-art technology and locally procured materials will provide for greater financial affordability.

At the heart of the scale up for RTHM lies high performance, fully automated, computer-controlled (CNC) machines to produce solid timber buildings. This European-based technology is well-developed and utilized within many countries but has not yet been comprehensively integrated within the North American industry. Based upon this state-of-the-art European machining/manufacturing equipment platforms, in concert with cutting edge 2D and 3D modeling software. Our homes are to be constructed of regionally sourced material and will be packaged to assist the needs for more affordable housing, initially within Colorado and Regional Tribal communities. The future goal is to contract with local and regional community entities, Housing Authorities, Tribal Governments and National Disaster Relief organizations, such as FIMA & Red Cross, to manufacture bulk wholesale orders to fill their registered housing deficit needs.

We are essentially reinterpreting the timber industry opportunity within the region. With our unique approach, incorporates both manufactured home packages for distribution and modularized assembled timber structures. In terms of impact to the industry, the reality is that RTHM is an important part of re-introducing the timber industry to the region’s wellbeing at the forefront of establishing a locally based manufacturing facility for more attainable, healthy, high quality homes units. With the combined increase in higher paying, salaried jobs, the revitalization of the timber industry, secondary processing and manufacturing, culminating in the introduction of a local housing manufacturer, all these elements have a positive multiplier effect socioeconomically across the board.

It is both our hope and intent that RTHM will help to further diversify our economy, allowing us to incrementally be less dependent upon the tourism industry and in effect facilitate a greater level of resiliency within our economy allowing us to become a more resilient community.
